Spring and Summer Pub Runs are Back for 2024   23rd April 2024 

From 30th April our Spring & Summer Pub Run sessions are back!  These sessions will make the best of the lighter evening and (hopefully) better weather with an opportunity for post-run refreshments at a local pub. Have a look at the Run Schedule and join us for a great trail run and a social drink afterwards.

The Return of Hills & Speed for 2023-24   1st October 2023 

The new season of Hills & Speed sessions will start again from 3rd October.  The sessions will run every Tuesday through to Easter 2024.  More information is here.

TCS London Marathon 2023 - A Personal Best!   25th April 2023 

On 23rd April 2023, Chief Rockhopper Martin Wright completed the TCS London Marathon 2023, achieving a Personal Best time of 3 hours 38 minutes.  It was a fantastic run, and also raised money for a terrific local charity - The Kirkwood Hospice.

New for 2023 - Let's Start Running   3rd December 2022 

In January 2023, we will be launching a new initiative – Let’s Start Running.  This is an 8-week running for beginners course in Huddersfield, designed for new runners, runners returning from injury, or for anyone who needs a little help with their New Year resolution.

Hills and Speed Sessions for 2022   9th October 2022 

It’s the time of year when the nights are drawing in and the temperatures are dropping, so the best thing we can do is embrace the changing seasons and develop our strength and conditioning.  Rockhopper Hills and Speed sessions will be a weekly Tuesday evening session which goes hand in hand with the Winter cross country season – it’s a great addition to you training plans, so book your place now.  All abilities are welcome.

Rockhopper Running at Heights Ultra Run    3rd September 2022 

We had a fantastic day on our first Rockhopper Running promotion gala day at the Heights Ultra Run.  Rockhopper Running shared an exhibition stall with Cheryl Devine’s Temple Spa stall, and we had great interaction with the runners and other stall holders.  Plenty of people embraced the Rockhopper challenge, and the one leg balance exercise went down a treat.  Thank you to everyone that joined us and enjoyed the fun.

Summer Pub Run Launch    17th April 2022 

This Tuesday we are launching our Spring & Summer Pub Run sessions.  These sessions will run every Tuesday evening from 6:30pm to 8pm, until the end of September.  Distance will be around 5 to 6 miles, taking in the best of the weather. Sessions will be coached and will finish at a pub for post-run refreshments.  The pubs will be at various locations around Huddersfield, taking in the best trails, starting this Tuesday at Harvey’s at Fenay Bridge.  Book your sessions now and join us for a mid-week off-road session with an opportunity for a social drink afterwards.

Christmas Fancy Dress Run    11th December 2021 

A huge thank you to the Rockhoppers that joined us for the annual Christmas Fancy Dress run this morning, for the Six, Seven, Eight Woods route.  It was a fitting finale following a year in which we’ve enjoyed some fantastic runs and had great times running together.  Thank you to everyone that has supported Rockhopper Running in 2021, here’s to more off-road running fun next year.  Merry Christmas!

Nicky Spinks Runs with the Rockhoppers    10th August 2021 

10th August was a very special Rockhopper Run.  Record breaking Ultra Runner Nicky Spinks joined the Rockhoppers for our run at Farnley Tyas.  Nicky had just broken the record for the Lake District 24 hour race, completing 65 peaks in 23 hours and 45 minutes.  Nicky joined the Rockhoppers for our run, stayed for photos and then held a Q&A session about her amazing achievements.

Rockhopper Easter Egg Hunt    3rd April 2021 

Our session this Saturday will be our Easter Egg Hunt.  It’s a Colne Valley run, starting from Slaithwaite Sports Centre, so book your place to join us in the hunt for chocolate egg goodies!

Rockhopper Runs Now Available on Run Together App    28th December 2020 

I’m pleased to announce that Rockhopper Running is now set up on the Run Together app, so runners can book their sessions using the app.  It’s a handy easy to view all up-coming runs, and all Saturday runs have been set up on the app until Easter, so download the app and book your sessions today!

Rockhopper Christmas Run    19th December 2020 

The Rockhopper Christmas Run for 2020 was at Emley – a challenging route taking in the best sites of Emley, including Emley Mast, the village and Millennium Green. We were blessed with sunshine and had fun in Christmas themed fancy dress.  Wishing all our Rockhoppers a very Merry Christmas!

Rockhopper Inaugural Run    3rd October 2020 

Today was the inaugural Rockhopper Run, the Seven Woods run, starting from Coffee Boy on Wakefield Road, through varying wood terrains from Almondbury. Highlights included Castle Hill and the views from Kaye Lane.  The distance was 5.6 miles, and a great run was enjoyed by everyone.
